Ayurvedic diagnostics has a broad scope. It includes not only the patient’s appearance, manner of expression, gestures and facial expressions, but also their voice, the shape of their eyes and the quality of their hair.
An Ayurvedic doctor also diagnoses based on the nails and tongue, which reflect the quality of digestion and overall health. Ayurvedic treatment also includes pulse diagnosis, which reliably determines which of the doshas is elevated, as well as the condition of individual organs. Pulse diagnosis can also reveal the patient’s emotional state, which, together with the mental state, is an inseparable part of our being and therefore cannot be overlooked when searching for the root cause of an imbalance. Medical history is also important, as is the consultation between the client and the doctor, during which the client describes their health concerns. Based on the diagnosis, the doctor will provide recommendations – changes in diet and lifestyle, herbs, exercise and massages – to help bring the body back into balance. Success depends greatly on the client’s cooperation.
Darsana works with Ayurvedic physician MUDr. Monika Gombošová, who combines the precision of Western medicine with a holistic Ayurvedic approach to the human being.

She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University in Bratislava (2012) and began her professional career in anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine. Years of experience in hospital settings and emergency medical services taught her to handle critical situations where every second counts.
However, her experience in intensive care medicine showed her that effective treatment of acute conditions is not enough – what was missing was an understanding of the deeper causes of illness that preceded them. Her desire to uncover these connections led her to yoga and later to Ayurveda.
She completed a five-year programme in Ayurvedic medicine at the Rosenberg Ayurveda Akademie in Germany, including clinical practice in both Europe and India. She further expanded her education through certified courses with Indian doctors in Slovakia and the USA, as well as a yoga instructor course, a programme in ethotherapy and energy healing training focused on trauma.
Today, in her practice, she combines the precision of Western medicine with a holistic approach to the human being. Her intention is not to offer quick fixes, but to guide clients on their journey towards understanding their own body and mind. She helps prevent health imbalances and uncover their underlying causes, working together with the client to find a way to bring the body back into balance and restore its natural vitality – with respect for their body, individual story and psychological well-being.
